ATM metal dome

Dome switches typically comprise a PET film sheet incorporating a metal spring disc (dome spring), mounted onto a PCB circuit board or FPC flexible circuit board. When the switch is depressed, the central point of the dome spring depresses, making contact with the circuit traces on the PCB. This completes the circuit, allowing current to flow and enabling signal transmission.

Dome switches are generally manufactured from ultra-thin (0.05mm–0.1mm thickness) and ultra-hard (hardness between HV480–550) stainless steel materials, such as SUS301. Surface treatments including nickel plating, silver plating, and gold plating may be applied to enhance conductivity and corrosion resistance.

They exhibit high sensitivity, extended service life, and low contact resistance. Designed for millions of press cycles, they enable rapid actuation or disconnection while delivering distinct tactile feedback during operation, thereby enhancing user experience.
