Rice cooker membrane switch

The membrane switch employs a high-temperature-resistant PET substrate capable of withstanding heat radiation of 60-80°C at the top of the rice cooker during operation, thereby preventing circuit ageing or key sticking caused by high temperatures. Key design accommodates diverse cooking requirements. Function keys such as ‘Cook Rice’, ‘Cook Porridge’, ‘Simmer Soup’, and " and ‘Timer’ functions feature high-contrast silk-screen printing with a slightly raised tactile structure, enabling swift recognition and operation by the elderly and children. The response time is ≤2ms, preventing accidental selections due to button delay. Additionally, it adapts to the curved panel design of rice cookers, with an overall thickness of just 0.28mm that does not compromise the appliance's seal integrity. The button lifespan exceeds 1.2 million presses (equivalent to 10-12 years of daily use).

Mainstream Product Types

‌PC Membrane Switches‌: Utilising polycarbonate substrates with excellent temperature resistance, supporting dual-stage rebound design

‌PET Film Panels‌: Transparent material supporting custom colour printing, suitable for display window designs

‌Flexible Touch Panels‌: Supporting capacitive touch functionality enabling multi-touch operations

Structural Composition

Typically comprised of a panel layer, isolation layer, circuit layer, and substrate layer. The panel layer features printed functional labels such as ‘Cook Rice’, ‘Cook Porridge’, and ‘Keep Warm’. Frequently used buttons are designed larger and more prominent for ease of operation. The insulating layer separates circuits to prevent short circuits. The circuit layer is printed with conductive material, forming button contacts and conductive pathways. The base layer is typically an adhesive backing used to secure the panel to the rice cooker housing.

Operating Principle

When a button on the panel is pressed, the panel layer deforms under pressure, causing the contacts on the circuit layer to touch, thereby completing the circuit. This sends the corresponding signal to the rice cooker's control chip, activating the desired function. Upon releasing the button, the panel layer returns to its original shape, the contacts separate, and the circuit breaks.

Rice cooker membrane switch Features

User-Friendly Operation: The buttons are logically arranged with clear labels, allowing users to easily locate the required function keys for swift operation.

Waterproof and Moisture-Resistant: Excellent sealing properties effectively prevent moisture ingress, safeguarding internal circuits and extending service life.

Aesthetic Durability: Printing techniques enable diverse colours and patterns to complement the rice cooker's overall appearance. The film material is wear-resistant, withstanding frequent pressing.

Types: Categorised by operation method into traditional keypad and touch-sensitive variants. Traditional keypads offer distinct tactile feedback with immediate response; touch-sensitive models lack physical buttons, featuring a smooth, sleek surface that resists dirt accumulation.
